The 2013 Hasbrouck Heights Little League season kicked off Saturday with opening day celebrations. "The biggest thing you guys can take away from baseball is team work," Pat Fass, president of the Hasbrouck Heights Little League told the players as they stood on the field during the opening ceremony. This year's league features 36 teams and 375 players. "The friends you make here on these fields you should tak with you to school and beyond these fields." Fass almos thanked the volunteers and all the sponsors who are "the lifeblood of this league." "Without them we would not be able to function. They do so much for these teams and kids," said Fass.

The Hasbrouck Heights Little League will hold its final in-person registration for the 2013 baseball season Saturday, Jan.19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the HHLL field house located off Oldfield Avenue. Teams will begin forming in early February with practices starting shortly after, so it is imperative that a final roster of all registered children is formulated. Little League baseball is open to all players who will be 5 years old by April 30 and who will still be 12 years old on April 30. The softball program is open to all girls up to age 8, as of the same cut-off date. The registration fee is $125 for new players and $100 for returning players (provided their 2012 concession duty was completed). No player will be registered without …

The 2012 Lions Hasbrouck Heights Little League team persevered through a tough season to win the Major League Championship. Coach Chris Moore reported, "the boys played with great heart and determination throughout the season winning many of their games in the late innings including a few walk off wins." "They played as a team supporting one another from start to finish. Congratulations to all the players for their dedication and success. Thank you to all the volunteers, the parents and the entire coaching staff for a very enjoyable season," said Moore.
