Heights Police Captain Retires, Little League Season Begins This Week

Taking a look at what you can expect to see on Patch this week.

This week begins with the official retirement of one of Hasbrouck Heights Police Department's longtime veterans.

Captain Joseph Cronin retires April 1 after 26 years with the department. He was head of the department's patrol division.

Cronin's retirement marks the fourth in the past year. In 2012, Lt. Thomas Archer after 26 years, Lt. Thomas Tozzi and Captain Jack Delorenzo, both after 25 years.

Recently two probationary patrolmen  were hired and are currently in the police academy expected to join the force in June when they graduate.

The Hasbrouck Heights Little League season 2013 kicks off this weekend with opening day festivities Saturday, April 6 at the little league field and a pancake breakfast at the VFW on Sunday, April 7.

Lincoln School students take their annual Talent Show to the stage this Friday at the high school auditorium.
